Default KPI Web Part from MOSS allows KPI reporting based various sources like SharePoint Lists, SQL Analysis Services, Excel Workbooks, or manually entered data in SharePoint
lists. KPI plus allows BDC (Business Data Catalog) data to be included as part of KPI reporting.

Create BDC application definition file to external data source.

KPI can be reported against records returned from the Entity, average function on
a column, or sum function on a column. Grouping and subtotal of columns are also
supported.

Optional data filtering can be done against the BDC data.

KPI traffic lights icons can be customized.
