Reporting Services
SAI can help business users access business data from data warehouse cubes stored
in MS SQL Server, exploiting the power of SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Service). The
reports are available either through Dashboard or SAI Report Center application,
built on custom enhanced SAI BI Web Parts. Web Parts developed by SAI can allow
the SSRS data to be viewed in variety of formats like, Charts, Graphs, Data grid,
Matrix with complete data drill down capability.
The primary objective in this offering is to view and track the Business Matrix
and allow end users to access and publish report data from SSRS, without the assistance
of IT department. To capitalize on the existing environment, SAI BI Web Parts can
integrate with any third-party reporting tool already purchased.
Dashboards
SAI Report Center application allows end users to create and customize Dashboard
with simple clicks. SAI Dashboard implementation can cover multiple levels of Actors
accessing the corporate portal. SAI Dashboard template page can allow end users
to view/communicate status and drive action. SAI Dashboard implementation assembles
and displays information from disparate sources such as Reports (from SSRS or any
reporting tool), Excel Worksheets (from Excel Services), and can be matched up against
KPIs. Data can be represented in various formats like Charts, Graphs or as Grouped
Summary Report with drill down capability.
Using SAI Mash Up Lists Web Part, data can be integrated with external services
for pictorial representation like, showing the revenue figures over sales district
map or displaying the customer address on a Google map. The goal once again is to
provide the decision makers with the business metrics information; in a way required
and personalized by end users without the need of IT support staff or programming.
SAI BI Web Parts, which can be used in Dashboard implementation, allows end user
personalization following SharePoint and business security rules defined.

Portfolio Management for a Hedge Fund
Client Services and Account managers had to access 6 systems to obtain the Security
holdings and performance data of the customers portfolio. Data warehouse built on
MS SQL Server had the historic information and SSRS was used to generate reports
like top ten holdings, asset distribution and security performances.
SAI Report center application was implemented and SAI Dashboard template was used
to display the SSRS reports generated against the data warehouse. SAI BI Web Parts
like, Mash up Lists Web Parts allowed the Account Managers to compare the performances
of various securities against various predefined financial indices and model portfolio.
Strict security was implemented on the data, allowing Account Managers to view only
their client's information. KPI was defined on holding level and performance can
be matched and represented for easier review.
SAI Dashboard also supports data filter for Reports and drill down capability. Reports
can also be exported to PDF for printing, before the client meetings.
