SharePoint can act as document management platform for the users to store documents
and contents. To transform this storage into a collaboration portal, data must be
tagged and classified for the users to identify, retrieve and view the information.
SharePoint Information Architects from SAI will define the structural design of
shared information environments.
Governance Model
SAI SharePoint Governance process model is the guidelines and tools, used by our
Information Architects, for identifying the manageable path which will allow companies
to deploy SharePoint collaboration platform with successful adoption among end user
communities.
SAI Governance model includes the following exercises
►
Taxonomy, Navigation and Search.
►
Project and Risk Management.
►
Configuration, Development and Deployment.
►
Infrastructure Management and Support.
►
Education, Training and Knowledge Transfer.
Ease of user navigation and ability to identify the documents will lead to increased
adoption and our Taxonomy strategy section as part of Governance Model will address
the Portal /Site classification and overall information architecture that specifies
how contents will be categorized, classified and tagged.
Taxonomy, Navigation and Search
SAI Information Architects will understand and gain knowledge of an organization's
data and contents along with business process used to create these information.
SharePoint Portal can then be modeled to provide these functionalities to the end
users in form of Site Navigation, Branding and Search. Taxonomy planning is important
for the long term adoption of SharePoint because it provides the framework by which
users find the information.
The Taxonomy workshops of Governance model will advice on Information Organization
and Portal Planning.
